Pullman East Melbourne Event Spaces: A Photographer’s Guide
Opposite the MCG with a 1,000 guest ballroom. A photographer's guide to Pullman East Melbourne, formerly Pullman on the Park.
About Pullman East Melbourne
Pullman East Melbourne, known until recently as Pullman Melbourne on the Park, occupies one of the best positions in Melbourne events: 192 Wellington Parade, directly opposite the MCG and Rod Laver Arena, with the Fitzroy Gardens running along its flank. For conference organisers that location does two jobs at once. Delegates are minutes from the CBD, and every major event at the sporting precinct, from AFL finals to the Australian Open, turns the hotel into a natural base for corporate hospitality.
Event Photos Australia has photographed conferences and gala dinners here over the years, back when it traded as Pullman Melbourne on the Park, so we know the ballroom, the Governor Wing and how the light works through those parkside windows.
Some events we've covered at the Pullman East Melbourne include: COSBOA National Small Business Summit, ImpactX Conference, Coles Dairy Conference and WentworthCon.

One thing worth clearing up straight away: this is not the same hotel as the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park. That property sits beside Albert Park Lake on Queens Road, about 15 minutes south. Same brand, two very different venues, and guests mix them up all the time. If your event is at the lakeside property, our Pullman Melbourne Albert Park guide is the one you want.

Where is Pullman East Melbourne?
192 Wellington Parade, East Melbourne, on the edge of the CBD. Jolimont Station is a short walk, trams run along Wellington Parade, and the MCG is directly across the road. The hotel sits in the middle of Melbourne's newest events hub, with CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Olympic Park a short walk away, and its 419 recently renovated rooms mean residential conferences keep everyone in the one place.

Photographing events at Pullman East Melbourne

The Governor Wing is the photographic signature here: daytime sessions get the MCG and the Fitzroy Gardens through the glass, which is about as Melbourne as a conference backdrop gets. The Grand Ballroom's pre function areas carry good natural light for arrival and networking coverage before the formalities begin. And the location earns its keep outside the hotel too. The Fitzroy Gardens are two minutes away for group photos and executive portraits, and an evening shot with the MCG lit up across Wellington Parade is the one interstate delegates share.
