As a conference and event space, Sofitel Brisbane Central is hard to fault.
Here are a few reasons why:
- The food at this hotel has to be some of the best we’ve seen (and tasted) at a event.
- We’ve seen the ballroom turn from a conference theatre style to a beautiful gala dinner in only a couple of hours.
- The high ceilings and interactive dynamic lighting allows your photographer and videographer to capture critical moments throughout the event with mood lighting.
- The ballroom is sound proofed so you’re unlikely to get any noise complaints from hotel guests.
- The morning light in the Ann St Lobby allows for some great light to capture beautiful candid portraits.
Best of all, after a long day at a conference you can simply go upstairs to your hotel room or choose from one of the many hotels nearby – Novotel Brisbane, The Westin Brisbane, W Brisbane, Hilton Brisbane just to name a few.
Getting to Sofitel Brisbane Central is a easy drive in however it can get rather busy during peak times. Parking at the hotel can be expensive and tight for larger vehicles but the option of street parking (limited) and the parking garage across the road is a great option. The staff have always been professional in the service they provide and access to level 1 is an easy ride on the escalator or lift.
The Ann St lobby is mainly used for registration desks and an exhibition space during conferences while the Ballroom/s are used for the conference sessions and gala dinners. The lobby can feel crowded at times as it has a low ceiling height and the colours of the lights in the area needs special care when photographing in this area (a non issue for a professional event photographer).
The large Ballroom allows for plenty of room to walk around without bumping into other guests and it has one of the best dance floors we’ve come across – plenty of room to swing, salsa, twirl or drop it like it’s hot!
