For over 15 years we’ve been trusted to cover Metcash’s flagship events, including what is now the Metcash Food Expo and IGA National Conference. An action-packed multi-day event with conference sessions, gala nights, awards ceremonies and one of Australia’s largest supermarket expos, held across The Star Gold Coast and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. We hit the ground running to produce high-quality, dynamic photos and videography, and we love the opportunity to showcase this important event.

The event now runs as the Metcash Food Expo and IGA National Conference, drawing over 300 exhibitors and 1,700+ retailers to the Gold Coast each July. Our 2026 coverage was our biggest yet – three shooters, four days, instant photo delivery to exhibitors and AI-powered guest galleries.

What We Do That’s Different

We’ve been involved in this event for over 15 years. As a result, when it came time for organisers to collate a slideshow presentation showcasing highlights from their Excellence Awards night, accessing a host of images for their awards presentations, we were able to quickly (and easily) dive into our collection to pull out the very best images to showcase some of the highlights.

This is what we love about what we do. Forming lasting relationships with clients gives us the power to become a real resource for them when it comes to ongoing management and presentation of images and videography. Had they simply hired whoever was free or ‘the cheapest they could find’, they wouldn’t have access to our professional shooting and storage capabilities.

Why We Never Send Just One Photographer

It’s hard to capture still photography AND high-quality video at the same time. That’s why we always plan multi-photographer coverage for this event – in 2026 that meant a lead photographer, a second photographer and a dedicated videographer. The event organisers and our team planned a brief with timings on the important parts of the event to really capture this massive event. This means that the images we produced as well as the videos were not only great but expansive enough for the organisers to really pick and choose from.

We’ve found that if you put a big event in the hands of only one person you’re going to be naturally limited in terms of coverage. A multi-shooter team covers all bases and means we can best serve the needs of our client.

The Venues

Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre

The facilities at the GCCEC are second to none. We’ve always had a fantastic time shooting events at this location. Fantastic lighting setups, friendly staff and brilliant facilities means that we always have a great time.

We’ve shot a number of events at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC). It’s truly the hub of all things event and conference related on the gorgeous Gold Coast. There’s something special and unique about this place – it’s got a character all of its own and it’s unlike the other BIG venues we shoot at around the country.

The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre opened in June 2004 in Broadbeach and is in a class of its own. This world class venue is linked via covered walkway to The Star Gold Coast. It’s got ample undercover parking and is only minutes’ walk from the beautiful sandy beach.

The Star Gold Coast

Situated in the heart of Broadbeach on Australia’s Gold Coast, The Star Gold Coast boasts a sprawling landscape spanning 7 acres of meticulously crafted gardens and parklands. Nestled within this expansive setting, the hotel offers an array of dining options and bars alongside a 24-hour casino, catering to diverse tastes. For relaxation, guests can indulge in a refreshing swim in the inviting outdoor pool.
