About Crown Melbourne

Crown Melbourne is the premier awards night and gala dinner venue in Melbourne, located on the south bank of the Yarra River in Southbank. The precinct brings together event spaces, three onsite hotels, restaurants and entertainment under one roof – making it one of the most self-contained event destinations in the country. Crown is hard to look past. And if you need an event photographer at Crown Melbourne, you’re in the right place.

The centrepiece is the Palladium – Australia’s largest pillarless ballroom and home to some of the nation’s most prestigious annual events including the AFL Brownlow Medal and the Allan Border Medal. If you’re planning a large-scale awards night, gala dinner, conference or product launch in Melbourne, Crown is hard to look past.

Event Photos Australia has photographed events across the Crown Melbourne precinct for years. We know the Palladium, the breakout rooms and every space in between.

Melbourne Events Photography

Our team has photographed events across the Crown precinct for years, from full Palladium awards nights to intimate dinners in Horizon. A note for event planners: the Palladium’s production lighting is world class, but stage lighting designed for broadcast doesn’t automatically translate to great photos of your guests at their tables. We work with Crown’s in-house AV team on lighting cues so both the stage and the room are covered properly.

For natural light, the Crown Aviary and Garden Rooms are the standouts – skyline backdrops that work beautifully for daytime functions and pre-event portraits. See our tips for planning an awards night and how to brief your event photographer for more.

In The Area

Crown Melbourne sits in the Southbank entertainment precinct with Melbourne’s arts and cultural attractions on its doorstep. The Arts Centre Melbourne and the NGV (National Gallery of Victoria) are both a short walk along the river – good options for interstate delegates with time between sessions.

Flinders Street Station and Southern Cross Station are both within a 15-minute walk, connecting delegates to Melbourne’s broader transport network. For dining, the Crown precinct itself has over 40 restaurants and bars, and Southbank’s restaurant strip runs along the river just outside.

If you’re considering other Melbourne event venues, we’ve also covered the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) in South Wharf, Pullman Melbourne Albert Park on Queens Road and The Langham Melbourne.
