In 2024, travel professionals proudly showcased their standout achievements, from exceptional customer service to innovation in industry practices and strong trade support, demonstrating the strength and growth of Australia’s travel sector in a grand Gala Awards Dinner held this year at the ICC Sydney, where the winners were revealed.
With so much passion and hard work on display, capturing the NTIA event was essential to preserving the energy and impact of the night. NTIA 2025 at The Star Brisbane
In 2025 the awards headed north to The Star Brisbane, the city’s newest premier events venue, and we were back behind the cameras. Same proven approach – a photographer roving the room, a second on the media wall, and winner photos delivered to media partners on the night. Having covered the NTIA in Melbourne, Sydney and now Brisbane, we know the event inside out wherever it lands.
When the Travel Industry Dresses Up, We Show Up
Setting the Stage for NTIA
Planning for the NTIA begins months in advance, as our team collaborated closely with the NTIA organisers to elevate the photography experience beyond previous years. We knew that capturing this prestigious event required not only creativity but also a strategic approach. Our team arrived the venue well ahead of time to familiarise ourselves with the venue’s layout and the evening’s lighting conditions. We scouted key areas, from the glamorous stage where winners would be announced to the bustling reception where attendees mingled. Knowing the ins and outs of the venue allowed us to anticipate the best angles and moments to capture, ensuring we were positioned perfectly when the excitement peaked.
Additionally, we worked with event organisers to understand any special requests, such as specific award presentations or speeches that needed extra attention. How and when media images would be delivered and how our videography team would capture and work. This level of preparation is what sets professional event photography apart, allowing us to seize those memorable moments as they unfolded throughout the evening.
Snap Happy: The Stats That Made NTIA Look Good!
At the NTIA, our photography team was a well-oiled machine, ensuring every memorable moment was captured in style. With two talented photographers on board – one roving the venue and the other stationed at the media wall to capture the award winners as they came off the stage with their award – our cameras clicked away at lightning speed.
Over the course of the night, we captured an impressive 2,586 photos at the 2024 event, expertly capturing everything from acceptance speeches to candid laughter between nominees. Meanwhile, our two videographers were hard at work, with one conducting interviews with the winners and the other focused on capturing the electrifying atmosphere of the event itself. Behind the scenes, an offsite video editor was working on the winner video interviews in real time, ensuring the highlights would be ready to share by the end of the night.
As the evening unfolded, we delivered the media wall photos directly to the online gallery for media partners, ensuring they had instant access to the latest winners, while the full event images were meticulously edited and sent out by the following day.
This streamlined approach not only kept everyone informed but also showcased the incredible talent and dedication present at the NTIA.
NTIA 2026 at Crown Melbourne
The National Travel Industry Awards return in October 2026, this time at Crown Melbourne’s Palladium – Australia’s biggest awards night venue. We’ll be there again as the official photography team.
